Family Visit Part 2

We spent our last evening together with my sister's family on Thursday night. We had a big birthday party to celebrate everyone's birthday since we are not together for these through out the year. We had a wonderful time and as always it was hard to see them go. The video below is of Drew, Ben, and Emma playing together. They are 4, 3, and 2. They had a really good time together and this "toy" they had was just too funny not to get on video and post for all of you to see.

First Days of School

Well we have now started Preschool. And as you can judge by the fact that it is Wednesday and I am just now posting this, it has been a busy week!! It really has been a good week. He has been very excited and having a good time. Today he actually walked to his room without me for the first day. This first week of school the parents were allowed to walk them to the room but starting next week we had to let the teachers walk them. I ask him this morning if he wanted me to or the teacher and he chose her. It is somewhat upsetting to see how he is so independent and does not need me as he used to, but I would rather him be like that than to cry for me every time I leave him. Today was a rainy day so that made things a little different for him. They did not get to play outside obviously, but the church has a really nice gym that he got to play in. As you can see from the pictures, the first two were taken at home. The last one was of him just as I was dropping him off. The expression on his face is a bit more apprehensive but he still went right in and had a great first day. It is so hard to believe that 4 years have gone by and he is really at this point already. I am thankful that he is so excited about school though.

Ministry Assistants Training

I spent most of this week in Clinton, MS at Camp Garaywa for the MS Baptist training workshop for church ministry assistants. It was a nice time to get away for a few days and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the camp. My fist experience at Camp Garaywa was as a GA after completing the 6th grade. It is much different to see it through the eyes of an adult rather than 12 year old eyes. I missed my family so much and was anxious to return home yesterday. We ended the week on a busy note by attending Preschool Parent's meeting Thursday night and then today I took Drew for the Open House where he met his teachers and got to see his room. I did not take any pics today but we will take some on Monday as I drop him off for his first day of preschool. We are all excited about this new stage of our lives. It is certainly hard to believe that he is already to this point, but here we are! I love him so much and would like for him to stay young and innocent but he will have to grow on up.
Lord, please help us to be the kind of parents you want us to be. Help Jim and I to be examples of bold and unashamed Christians. After all, our children ultimately belong to you. Thank you that you have allowed us the privilege of raising this precious child.

Family Visiting

This past week we have lots of family here to visit. First my sister and her family were here from England. We had not seen the entire family in more than 2 years. It was a wonderful time to visit with all of them. They left yesterday to visit other family and friends but will be coming back our way on the 19th and staying a couple more days before they fly back home. Also here were my aunt and cousin from Texas. My cousin has two beautiful girls of her own and they had a lot of fun playing with our crazy bunch! I did not get a whole lot of pictures. The kids stayed outside most of the time and it was so hot that I wasn't even going out there to take pics of them. The few I did get I was sweating pretty good after taking them. I will take more pictures when they are here again.

4 Year Old Doctor Visit

Posted by Picasa
We went to the doctor last Friday for our 4yr old check up and Pre-K shots. This was the first time we have ever had to wear the lovely "gown" you see in the pictures above. He was quite a ham! I am glad the doctor came in the room when she did because the gown was not going to survive much longer with all the running and jumping around that it was being subjected too. He did very good with his check up. The doctor discovered really quick how ticklish he is. He had to get 3 shots. 2 in one arm and 1 in the other. He was such a big boy about it though. He did not even shed a tear with the first two, just gritted his teeth. The last one was pretty bad though and it was on that stings. We were both in tears after that. Because he was such a big boy, we went and got some ice cream afterwards, ice cream could heal all the hurts in the world I think! So with that check up he is now officially ready to start Pre-K. I am not though! I am not coping too well with the realization that my baby is about to start school. I know he is absolutely ready for it and he is so excited. These 4 1/2 years have gone by so quickly, too quickly. We start school on August 18, so expect me to be a tearful bundle of emotions on that day!

I am sooooo tired!

We have had a busy week. My sister and family are home for a visit from England. We have spent everyday since Saturday running back and forth to my mom's house in Coldwater to spend time together as a family. We only see them about every 2 years so we have to cram it all in at one time! So we are utterly exhausted. I have some pics, not too many, that I will post soon. I just wanted everyone to know that I am still out here, just don't have the strength to do much more than this for now! Be back here soon!
